Groundwork is a Cincinnati-based psychology practice offering thoughtful, evidence-based therapy for adults — in person in Mount Adams or virtually across Ohio and 40+ states. We welcome clients of all genders, cultural identities, and sexualities.
What therapy here looks like
Thoughtful care.
Genuinely human.
Doctoral-level training, evidence-based methods, and no false promises about quick timelines. Just the kind of therapy that actually lasts.
Warmth all through the hard stuff.
Therapy here means going into the difficult places together, with curiosity and patience. Say the thing you are worried to say — we can handle it together.
You, seen fully.
Identity matters. So do your strengths, your relationships, and the things you're still figuring out. You're not a case, you're a whole person.

Begin the work
Weekly or biweekly sessions, 45–50 minutes each. In-person in Cincinnati's Mt. Adams neighborhood, or virtual across Ohio and 40+ states.
If this is you:
- Your life looks fine from the outside, but you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or like you're performing more than living.
- You're carrying the weight of trauma — and you're ready to finally set some of it down.
- You're a queer, trans, or gender-diverse adult who wants a therapist who gets it without making identity the only topic in therapy.
- You want to understand how your past relationships and experiences have shaped who you are today.
- You're navigating a major life transition, questions of who you are, or relationship pattern you keep repeating.
- Anxiety or depression keep sneaking up on you—and the surface-level tips aren't helping.
- You've tried therapy before and want something deeper this time.
- You've been told you might have ADHD or high-functioning autism — maybe you're just starting to understand how your brain works differently.
You're in the right place.
